The double seam is the primary closure that protects a canned beverage. A seam may look acceptable from outside while internal overlap, body hook or tightness is outside the approved range. Small errors in end handling, chuck alignment, roll profile or lift pressure can therefore create leaks, loss of carbonation and shelf-life risk.
