Project Case

25 T/H Nanofiltration Water Treatment System Delivered to Indonesia

Indonesia

HZM delivered a 25-ton-per-hour nanofiltration water treatment system and an air-compressor system to a customer in Indonesia. The project was designed around lower-total-dissolved-solids water sources such as suitable surface water or groundwater.

Unlike a generic purifier description, this case focuses on the selected membrane process, its intended role and the supporting equipment included in the delivery.

Why Nanofiltration Was Selected

Nanofiltration uses a semipermeable membrane and pressure to separate selected dissolved and organic substances. Its rejection behavior differs from reverse osmosis, so the correct choice depends on feed-water chemistry and the required treated-water profile.

For lower-TDS feed water, nanofiltration can be considered when the project needs selective reduction rather than the broader salt removal typically associated with RO. A full laboratory analysis is required before design.

25 T/H Treatment Capacity

The documented design capacity is 25 tons per hour. System capacity should be evaluated at the expected water temperature, feed quality, recovery and operating schedule because membrane output changes with those conditions.

Daily demand also needs to include production peaks, storage, cleaning, flushing and planned maintenance rather than relying only on an hourly nameplate.

Pretreatment and Membrane Protection

A membrane system depends on suitable pretreatment. Suspended solids, hardness, oxidants, iron, manganese, silica, organic load and microbiological condition can affect fouling and cleaning frequency.

The final configuration should use feed-water analysis to select filtration, dosing and monitoring. Differential pressure, flow and conductivity trends help operators identify deterioration early.

Integrated Air-Compressor Package

The delivery also included an air-compressor system. Compressed air may support valves, actuators and other equipment, but its pressure, capacity and quality must match the actual users.

Including the compressor in the project helps align one important utility with the treatment equipment and reduces the risk of undersized site supply.

Application in Indonesia

The project record states that the treated water would support industrial and domestic-water needs in Indonesia. Final suitability depends on the raw-water report, finished-water specification and applicable local requirements.

HZM’s role was to provide the configured treatment and support package; the project demonstrates capability beyond filling and packaging machinery.

What This Project Demonstrates

This case demonstrates HZM’s water-treatment engineering capability at 25 T/H and the ability to integrate membrane equipment with supporting compressed air. It also illustrates a disciplined selection principle: choose nanofiltration, RO or another process from water chemistry and the required output—not from a generic equipment list.

A comparable proposal should include a current raw-water analysis, seasonal temperature range, required permeate quality, operating hours, recovery target, concentrate-disposal conditions and sanitation method. These inputs allow pretreatment, membrane area, pumps, instruments and storage to be sized as one reliable treatment system.

For a related configuration, review HZM’s industrial water treatment system solutions. A project proposal should always be confirmed against the actual product, package, utilities, layout and required output.
