18,000 BPH Water Line On-Site Installation in Ethiopia

HZM delivered an 18,000 BPH pure water production line to an Ethiopian customer at the beginning of October. After ocean transport and equipment receipt, the project moved into installation and commissioning during the COVID-19 period.

Rather than limit the project to remote guidance, HZM arranged on-site service after confirming protective measures with the customer. Three engineers traveled to the factory to position, connect and commission the machinery.

Why On-Site Commissioning Mattered

Installation quality affects alignment, container flow, filling stability and the efficiency of the complete line. Remote support can help with preparation, but a new turnkey line benefits from engineers who can inspect the physical interfaces and observe the equipment under load.

HZM chose to maintain the on-site service commitment even when international travel required additional planning.

Customer Preparation and Safety Measures

With HZM guidance, the customer completed site-preparation work before the engineers arrived. The customer also provided epidemic-prevention measures intended to protect the visiting team and local staff.

This cooperation allowed the work to proceed in a structured way despite the unusual conditions.

First-Stage Installation Work

After the first week, the team had completed part of the machine positioning and connection work. Positioning establishes the final equipment route, access and conveyor interfaces; connection work then brings together electrical, pneumatic, water and control services.

Those early steps create the foundation for later dry running, bottle trials and production commissioning.

Service Capability Shown by the Project

Sending three engineers demonstrates the scale of support required for a complete 18,000 BPH line. The team could divide mechanical, electrical and process tasks while coordinating with the customer’s personnel.

The project also shows the value of planning: site readiness, health requirements and engineering travel were resolved before the main commissioning work.

What This Project Demonstrates

This Ethiopia case is evidence of HZM’s commitment to on-site installation and customer training during a difficult service period. The images and project video document the actual factory work instead of presenting only finished equipment.

For new projects, a similar installation plan should include a readiness checklist, utility data, local lifting resources, packaging materials and named customer staff for training.

The commissioning schedule should also reserve time for bottle and cap trials, line-speed ramp-up, cleaning verification and a supervised production run. These activities turn mechanical completion into a repeatable operating baseline and give the customer’s team practical experience before independent production.
