Gold Water, an established Ethiopian beverage brand, selected HZM again to expand bottled-water capacity after operating two earlier HZM production lines. The new project was configured for 36,000 BPH using 600 ml bottles and approximately 20,000 BPH for the 2L format.

This case focuses on the equipment configuration and factory acceptance stage before delivery. It shows how treatment, bottle making, filling, labeling and packing were specified as one capacity-balanced system.

Repeat-Customer Expansion

The customer based the new order on previous cooperation and equipment stability. Repeat projects reduce uncertainty because both teams already understand operating expectations, communication and service procedures.

The new line nevertheless required a fresh technical review because output, bottle sizes and equipment generation differed from the earlier installations.

Complete Equipment Configuration

The documented scope includes a 50-ton-per-hour RO water treatment system, an eight-cavity full-servo blow molding machine with changeable-pitch technology, an XGF72-72-18 water filling machine, a hot-glue labeling machine rated around 38,000 BPH and high-speed PE film packaging.

This configuration connects raw-water treatment to finished bundles. Each stage includes capacity margin so the filler is not repeatedly starved or blocked during normal production.

Two Bottle Formats, Two Output Targets

The project distinguishes the 600 ml and 2L production rates. Larger bottles require more product flow and different handling conditions, so quoting a single speed would give an incomplete picture.

Changeover planning covers blow molds or pitch settings, filling and conveying parts, label parameters and shrink-pack arrangement. A documented setup improves repeatability when operators move between the two commercial formats.

Factory Acceptance Before Shipment

HZM’s inspection department completed the line test, and the Gold Water technical team also participated in inspection and acceptance. Joint testing gives the customer direct visibility into equipment condition and creates a clear punch list before packing.

A strong factory acceptance test checks safety devices, alarms, format parts, dry cycles and representative production conditions. Items that require site utilities or real product should be identified for final commissioning rather than assumed complete.

Engineering and Service Strength

The project combines high-capacity treatment, servo bottle production, rotary filling and downstream packaging in one scope. Coordinating these technologies demonstrates HZM’s project-management and complete-line engineering capability.

The customer’s decision to order again after earlier projects also reflects the value of equipment support over time, not only the initial manufacturing stage.

What This Project Demonstrates

This Ethiopia case demonstrates how a growing beverage producer can add capacity using a tested, multi-machine configuration with different targets for each bottle size. It also shows why customer participation in factory acceptance is valuable before international shipment.
