User What are the three types of blow moulding?

Blow molding is a manufacturing process used to produce hollow plastic parts. There are three main types of blow molding:

automatic blow molding machines

1、Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM)

This is the most common type of blow molding. In EBM, a continuous tube of plastic, called a parison, is extruded (pushed out) from an extruder. The parison is then enclosed in a mold, and air is blown into it, causing the plastic to take the shape of the mold. After the plastic cools and solidifies, the mold opens, and the finished product is ejected. EBM is often used for manufacturing containers such as bottles and containers.

2、Injection Blow Molding (IBM)

In IBM, a preform is injection molded, typically from a plastic granule or pellet. The preform is a test tube-like piece of plastic with a screw thread. This preform is then transferred to a blow molding machine, where it is heated and clamped into a mold. Air is then blown into the preform, expanding it to the shape of the mold. IBM is commonly used for producing small containers and bottles.

3、Stretch Blow Molding (SBM)

This process combines elements of both injection molding and blow molding. It begins with the injection molding of a preform, similar to the process in IBM. The preform is then heated and stretched in the axial (lengthwise) direction, and simultaneously, air is blown into it to expand it to the shape of the mold. This process is commonly used to produce PET bottles for beverages and other liquids.

These three types of blow molding are used in various industries to manufacture a wide range of plastic products, particularly containers and bottles. The choice of which method to use depends on factors such as the desired product characteristics, production volume, and cost considerations.
